An early George II silver taperstick dating to London 1744. Standing on a square foot with canted corners. Still with some traces of original gilding. The faceted knopped stem terminating in spool-shaped socket. Surmounted by a nozzle/drip pan of conforming shape. Hallmarked to underside for London 1744, maker's mark obscured. Also stamped with very small French import marks. An attractive piece of early Georgian silver.
Condition
In good antique condition with expected wear. Minor dings and surface wear throughout.
