Ornate Antique George III Solid Sterling Silver Coffee Pot, London 1793.
An ornate early silver Coffee pot, dating to London 1793. The pear shaped body embellished with swags and stylised acanthus leaves. The apposing sides with images of a man and woman. With carved wooden handle opposite an ornate spout. The domed lid surmounted by a solid cast finial. Hallmarked to underside for London 1793. A lovely early coffee pot with unusual and attractive decoration.
Condition
In antique condition with some wear. Various small dents and surface wear throughout. Handle probably re-attached. Small repaired crack beside handle (see pic. 10) Interior of teapot is quite stained. Maker's mark is partially rubbed. Other hallmarks to underside are clear and legible.
