A wonderful Tiffany silver tea caddy in the aesthetic style. Of rounded rectangular form standing on four scroll feet. The front featuring two birds among branches in the Japanese taste. Beneath the birds is a die-rolled band of basketweave. Within this band are found cranes, ferns and blossom. The basketweave motif is mirrored with a narrower band to the removable lid. Surmounting the lid is a spherical finial on four supports. A similar caddy is found in John Loring's Magnificant Tiffany Silver. Loring attributes the design of the finial to Christopher Dresser.

Made under the directorship of Edward Moore, 1873 - 1891. A stunning piece of antique Tiffany silver.

Condition

In good antique condition with expected wear. There are minor dings and surface scratches throughout. Hallmarks to bases are clear and legible.
